Closure Order issued on Baldock Property |
Hello Resident I just wanted to update you with some local Baldock Policing news.
The Letchworth & Baldock Neighbourhood Policing Team has worked alongside our Community Safety Unit and partners at Settle Housing to secure the order after significant and ongoing disruption to the local community. The property on London Road had been repeatedly identified by neighbours and officers as having a large negative impact on the area. The tenant was first issued with a Community Protection Warning, which was quickly breached and escalated to a Community Protection Notice. Despite this, the tenant went on to commit more than 35 breaches, alongside being arrested for several other offences. Police prosecuted these breaches, and last week, the case was taken to court where a full closure order was granted. The prosecutions of the breaches at court were integral part of the case. No one can enter the address for three months, giving the community much‑needed respite from the ongoing anti‑social behaviour. During this time, Settle Housing will be applying to court to revoke the tenancy permanently. We know how distressing persistent anti‑social behaviour can be, and we’re committed to taking robust action to protect our communities. Any behaviour that has a negative impact on the Baldock community will be dealt with robustly using our anti-social behaviour powers. I am grateful for the support of the local community to bringing this address to our attendance and supporting to evidence issues to court. If you are experiencing issues near your home such as frequent comings and goings, excessive noise, drug use or related activity or behaviour that makes you feel unsafe please report it to us. Your information helps us take action.
I hope this shows our dedication to dealing with anti-social behaviour in Baldock.
